Parks

Galveston’s parks were hard hit by the storm, denying the Island’s citizens of the benefits associated with a rich urban forest canopy.

Though it will be many years before the canopy can be re-established, planting programs have been completed at five of the city’s 12 parks with three more slated for completion in 2012.
