Mexican White Oak or Monterrey Oak

The Mexican White Oak was only recently discovered in the US as a native tree species in 1992, but it is now widely available in commercial nurseries! It is only naturally occurring in the US near the Devil’s River in Val Verde country and is more common in Mexico.

It is a medium-sized oak that can grow up to 60 feet tall with a trunk 2 feet in diameter. It is widely planted as a landscape tree and can act as wildlife food.
